You have goals that you want your business to reach, aspirations and hopes for the future, and responsibility to the here and now. This brings forward that burning question, have you done enough?

That can become an overwhelming mix.

You reflect on the week gone by, and you see that you have not achieved the goals that you set for your business. You look and see your aspirations and hopes are no closer than they were this time last week. However, your responsibility has grown; as it does every week.

There are times when you need to double down and get stuck in.

There are times when you need to step back and gain some objectivity.

And sometimes you need to accept that you need some help.

The end of the week is a great time for reflection, but you must be careful with how you talk to yourself in those moments.

If you haven’t achieved what you planned for then, instead of berating yourself, you need to take a lesson from it. Learn from it so that next week will be better.

Stepping back to gain some objectivity is not the same as accepting mediocrity in your life. In fact, they couldn’t be any more different.

Ask yourself what worked and what didn’t. After which you can figure out why.

Taking that step to evaluate your performance from a place of objectivity will enable you to step into next week with a revised plan and new energy.

It’s all an adventure, and everything brings with it a learning curve.

I sincerely hope this helps you to be a little kinder to yourself without letting yourself off the hook. You have standards to maintain, and this will help ensure that maintenance is possible. So, over to you: have you done enough?
